For good or ill, they are all bound for a planet called the Nethress, which means "Neverland" in the language of the Fen, the alien race that Tinkerbell once knew as her family before she was abducted and kept prisoner on Earth. |

THE VOICE AND THE VULTURE
Six months after aliens invade the planet earth, decimate every major city and build huge fortresses of solid sheer metal, two young adults are separated by hundreds of miles of empty Oregonian wilderness connect by chance on the same radio channel. It's an unlikely world to build a strange friendship, and maybe even romance. Not only did the aliens destroy major populations, they set loose their own animal species and ecosystems, which changes the entire food chain and creates biological chaos. Indiana Sawyer is on her own, following a string of good luck finding what she needs to survive, not limited to canned goods and a bicycle. She figures if she is about to die soon, she might as well hike to the ocean for her first look at the Pacific. Benjamin Aarons lost his father in a horrific alien attack, and now carries his ashes, hoping to scatter them on Mount St. Helens, the mountain his father loved best. These two survivors, random owners of a pair of army surplus radios with a wide range, find that they crave connection and decide to meet somewhere in the middle, and continue their respective journeys together. |
WINE AND PREJUDICE
A comedic retelling of Jane Austen's beloved battle of wits and hearts, WINE AND PREJUDICE takes the classic story of Pride and Prejudice with a twist (or a taste) unlike any other. Set amongst the consumers of the Willamette Valley wine industry, lovers of the quirky unknown towns in the Pacific Northwest where hundreds of vineyards line the low hills will appreciate the in-jokes of the region. There is a harmonious juxtaposition of a fancy industry with a population that just doesn't want to do fancy. Wine moguls like Netherfield Vineyards and Pemberly Wine Co would never purchase vineyards to expand their business from the Napa Valley in California - would they? Yes, they would. Charles Bingley comes to town and begins to woo Jane Bennet. His friend, Darcy Fitzwilliam, is an unpleasant, proud, arrogant asshole and Lizzy Bennet is determined to hate him forever. The rest is history. Maybe you know the story, but maybe you’ve never seen it like this; fresh, crisp, maybe on the smoky side, with a robust finish. Best tried with a Brie cheese and water crackers. Curl up with your own glass and blanket to read in delight, and laugh-out-loud-funny, as Lizzy Bennet and Fitz Darcy begin their age-old rivalry once again in a new century. Take a turn about the room with us, check the dregs, and have a sip. It delights, it satisfies. You're welcome. |
In the summer of 2001, five friends are forced outdoors under the hot sun in a town called Walden where there is absolutely nothing to do. There's the sensitive and artistic Matty, our 14-year-old narrator. Seaweed, the future student body president with a driver's license. Jessie, a junior pressured by her parents to give her 200% to every sport the school offers. Mariana, the cheerleader, for both the school and her friend's spirits. There's Ty, the loud mouth geek who never knows when to shut up; and Zach, the rebel, who only looks like a bad egg to their parents because he's goth. Forced to invent their own fun, they decide to hunt the rumored monster that supposedly haunts the woodlands outside the town. They say its lair lies at the end of an old rail line, but the problem is, the train station was torn down in the early 1900s, and the tracks are nowhere to be found. The mission: if they find the tracks, they find the monster. What could possibly go wrong? It’s not like its real, it's just a couple of misfits determined to have at least one innocent adventure before September comes.
